Hey,

I have a client who wants to know the about how much money will a Late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro 15" screen that needs to be repaired. The two apple stores where the client is located is taking reservations for Genius Bar for March 3rd. Does anyone know how much or an good estimate will be, as they want to start saving for it immediately. They do have Apple Care on their mac, and want to get it replaced though apple.

Thank you

I have a 2012, and I inquired about screen replacement....They told me $700+ in store or the flat rate repair were they send it in for $310. I personally did my screen repair myself for $240 and will be selling my screen. (My screen still worked just had image retention and was out of warranty.) Your case could be different due to warranty and if the screen is damaged. Applecare will not cover damage.

Thank you for the speedy reply, the outer metal is dented and and the LCD is broken, but only takes up at most 5% of the screen space.. The Glass is ironically fine even thought it looks like the dent was created by a philips screw driver even though they fell asleep with it on their stomach...

So if they do it themselves they'd charge you 700+ or if they send it in (to apple?) its half as much - that doesn't make sense

Just what the genius told me....I'm assuming because it will be done in a few hours as opposed to a week.

The client just got the Mac screen replaced. In-store was 764 (680 for the screen and 39 for labor before tax). To mail it in, the estimate was over $1200, I was with the client and saw it on the Genius's screen to confirm it.

Update: The Client sent me a snapshot copy of their Apple Store Service Confirmation, so I can post it here. In order to post it here, I removed all identifying factors other than the store.
