I have a new macbook pro retina and a sony camera and an android phone. I take video from these two devices and use the card inserted into the mac but the mac doesn't see the videos....only the pictures. Am I missing software or whats the issue. I even uploaded a video to drop box but the mac won't see the video on dropbox.... my android sees it.

What format is the video in?
Mac shall have no problems handling MP4 videos.
It does not handle AVCHD videos without help from other software.
The easiest way to start would be to use iMovie.
I can download AVCHD movies from my Sony camera without problems, using the iMovie.
Sony's PlayMemories Home is another tool to get content from Sony camera to computer.
