hi, i have a 2014 macbook pro retina 15" and i have noticed that my screen has blotches. Ive owned this laptop for a few years and never really noticed them until recently i cleaned my screen and the blotches grew bigger. I read that apple are replacing screens for this problem, obviously i'm out of warranty but i read that apple extended the repair program by 4 years. Am i covered? I want to make a genius appointment, but just don't want to waste my time going for them to say i'm not covered.

That's Staingate. It's a common issue on the 2012-2015 MBP. Apple will replace your screen for free.
I think those 4 years are 4 years from date of purchase but you should definitely try your luck.
