    Can anyone tell if this:
    http://www.adorama.com/ACME865LLA1.html

Is the current generation of macbook retina pro (Haswell)?

I was already on the line with an apple rep so i asked him he said they didn't have enough info for him to tell. So i called Adorama and they transferred me to a product specialist and the product specialist couldn't tell me 100% for sure or not (which is kind of what i expected). Most of the etailers put Haswell to distinguish its current gen unfortunately adorama does not. Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks...

Thanks guys....i prefer to go with Adorama because they are $50 cheaper and with VIP they give you 1 extra year of warranty for free (can't be that) but didn't want that chance on getting any ivy based rMBP. I've always had good luck when ordering in the past. They should put (haswell) on their site like most of the others do (or some other way to prove its the current year model).

Usually the graphics card gives it away. Intel Iris is Haswell only.

    thanks everyone

Thanks everyone for your help. I end up ordering this. I was on the fence about buying applecare but since it was cheaper than directly from apply (170ish vs 250) and they give you parallels 9 for free when you purchased applecare (which i would have paid for anyways) it was worth it for me. I don't live near an apple store (about 2 hours away from one) so hopefully if i have issues that won't matter.

They are out of stock but hopefully they get back in stock soon :(. I took their saver shipping because ground was $17 more. Hopefully they are like newegg and use ground anyways when shipping something expensive like this.

This is my shift away from Microsoft probably forever and thats sad from a Microsoft developer (love .Net just hate windows at this point). My wife will get my fully decked out win ultrabook with windows 8.1.

I opted for 16GB of ram because i run vms a lot. Anyways wish me luck :)

That Apple care sounds like a great deal. Not sure off hand what the official edu discount is. The next purchase I'll be making myself I just that. I also went 16gb like yourself but refurb from Apple just wish I would have thought to up the shipping speed(extra $14) haha. Any rate enjoy that new mbp ;)
