I have a new MacBook Pro Retina, Mavericks, but when I play a DVD with the USB SuperDrive in the DVD-Player that is installed, the resolution is not good, it is actually rather pixelated. Actually, it is the same in Safari and Adobe Reader. What is the problem?

The video resolution is way lower than the retina resolution of the rMBP, so it's only normal if it appears mushy or pixellated.
