MacBook Pro Retina Mini display -> Displayport 3D + 120 Hz?

Hey


I'm gaming on my Mac, and i'm looking for a new 1080P gaming monitor (my old 2233RZ is getting old)

The way i currently use 120 Hz / 3D is by the Dual-Link DVI adapter.

But in the BenQ gaming monitors, they have a Displayport input, so my question is, would a mini display port to Display port cable be sufficient for 1080P 120 Hz / 3D ? or would i still need the Dual-Link DVI adapter?
