Hello everyone.

This is the first time I'm moving to an Apple laptop. Although I am a iPhone 5 owner and I would like to know your opinion about new MacBook Pro Retina computers in order to be informed.

This is the model I'm thinking on buying:

Thats the brand new 13 inch model. it's a fantastic bit of kit, the screen is amazing and it is powerful enough to be a desktop replacement for light to medium users.

For now, it won't have a massive usage. However I want a piece of equipment which is capable of doing heavy stuff in the future, like ps working.

Plus, and now related to battery management, since it works for discharging cycles, and because the MacBook is staying on the desk, it is better to keep it plugged in to the charger right?

I have this exact one, it runs Photoshop fine. It is an absolutely fantastic all-rounder. Plenty powerful for all but the most demanding tasks, light and small enough to carry around anywhere, top notch display and for light usage you can get 10 hours of battery life or more.

If it is staying on a desk just leaver it on a charger.

Thank you for the answers.
Since it's my first transition from windows to Mac, is there any guide you guys recommend me to read?

LiPo don't care how you use them. They don't like excessive heat (and I truly mean excessive, as in, leaving it on a car's dashboard in scorching heat out it in the sun). They don't like deep discharge cycles.

Apart from that, don't think one second about your battery. It'll die in 3-6 years from plain old age, no matter how much or how little you used it.

Thank you snaky69.

As you're used to Mac OS, can you guide me on some must-have apps and actions in order to make my windows to Mac transition easier? :)
