MacBook Pro Sandy Bridge i7 2.3 Boots in 64bit kernel mode by default

    Hello Guys.

    I have a new MacBook Pro 17'' with the new Sandy Bridge i7 2.3GHz Quad Core and looks like it boots the 64bit kernel by default.

    Here the output:
    So, this can mean that from now on all new macs will boot in 64bit kernel by default...

    I thought every new mac boots into 64 bit by default.

    Yes, it started with the 2010 Mac Pro.
    (Check MacPerformanceGuide or Apple Support pages for more info.)

    I was under the impression this change happened with last years models first.
