macbook pro screen flicker

a couple times a day my screen will dim for about half a sec and then come back to normal brightness, any ideas, should i bring it to a genius

Could be a failing graphics chip. Have you tried a clean install of Mac OS X to rule out the possibility of software issues?

no, ill try that tomorrow, i just got the computer a year ago so hopefully its not the graphics chip, it only does it maybe twice a day, just a quick flash, it started like 2 days ago

Ironically mine just started doing it too, and it's also about a year old.
