MacBook Pro screen flickers when trying to connect external display.

I'm using the MiniDisplay port to HDMI on my MacBook Pro and connecting it to my 720P Dynex HDTV.

All my MacBook Pro does is flicker 3 times for about 8 seconds that it goes back to normal. Nothing is showing up on my TV!!! And Yes, I have my TV on "HDMI"

Can someone please Help! I will do anything!
