i was wondering if the 15" screens had the simliar IPS panel compared to the 24" imacs

would there be a gradient wash vertical/horizontal due to the fact that its a laptop?

    all Apple laptops, specifically.

    not all laptops have TN.

Are you suggesting there are currently made laptops with 8-bit panels? I knew there used to be (and cost an arm and a leg) but I thought the manufacturers stopped making 8-bits smaller than 20".

The 15" Thinkpad T-series uses an S-IPS panel.

For that matter, all high resolution, T, X, Z, R, W are 8-bit with S-IPS or PVA. Also the X6x tablet XGA is MVA

Hmm. Looks like Apple has some catching up to do (again).

    yep.

i believe the thinkpad ips panels are becoming increasingly hard to find however. Most of them are PVA now.

PVA is still a huge load better than the cardboard panels Apple's using.
