Macbook Pro shipping dates, UK...

Hi folks.

I ordered a Macbook Pro from the Apple (UK) site and was gobsmacked to see that the shipping date was 11 days later, with delivery time estimated at nearly another week after that! Where do they build these things, on the moon?

Still, I can't wait till it arrives.

I had difficulty finding stockists in the UK (wanted to buy from a store to have the hand-in option should it be faulty).

Ended up reserving one of the last two in my local John Lewis store. Nice thing is you get two years free insurance automatically. I'm still going to get AppleCare though as I don't know what John Lewis' repairs are like.

FWIW, you can return Mac's from Apple.com/UK within 14 days for, afaik, any reason. I had a faulty Mac mini which Apple collected, free of charge, and gave me a full refund for.
