MacBook Pro shuts off when on battery power!

Hey guys,

I'm trying to help my friend out with his 15" MBP... When the power is plugged in it runs fine, but it shuts off after about 3 minutes of battery power (when the plug is removed.) We've tried repairing permissions and zapping PRAM, to no avail.

Also, it won't start up if running just on battery power.

Anyone else have this issue? Any solution? Thanks.

I believe that some MBPs had bad batteries that caused exactly this issue. I would give Apple a call.
