Ok yesterday, my macbook pro 13" would start in around 20-25 seconds. Today it seems to start around 35-40 seconds. any reason why it changed? just got me a little worried.

What type of hard drive are you using in the computer?

That does seem a bit strange.

I'm not sure unless you installed something that is starting at login? But then again that should equate to 20 secs longer. Did you drop the computer or do in anyway damage the drive?

Hopefully someone else will chime in, with some other thoughts.

it just has the login screen at startup. Nope never dropped it before, I try to be as gentle with it as possible. Although somtimes i will here the sudden motion sensor click, but I heard that was normal...

Reset SMC and PRAM and run Disk Utility. Also reselect your OS X disk as #1 boot up volume from System Preferences > Startup Disk
