I've looked around the forum (which has been very helpful in other situations), but haven't been able to find someone else having my exact problem.
I ordered my 15" MBP 2.4 early November and have been using it for about a month. Until yesterday the Superdrive had been working perfectly. However, it now does not recognize non-audio CDs (i.e. data/program CDs). It plays DVDs and audio CDs just fine, not the case for anything else. If I enter anything other than a DVD or audio CD the machine tries 3 times to read the CD (3 distinct attempts, of which I've read about on other sites) before spitting out the CD. 😕
I've already tried repairing disk permissions to no avail. This is actually my first Mac and, besides this (frustrating) issue, I'm in love with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
