I apologize if this topic is a retread but I'm looking for the most up to date information.

I own a MacBook Pro and a Samsung LN40B530 40" LCD HDTV. How would I project what's on my laptop to my TV. I've read APPLE TV is limited. I assume I need an additional cable/adapter.

Recommendations?

Thank you.

Why would you use an Apple TV? Just pick up a nice Mini-Display to HDMI cable from Apple. Cost me $40.

Whenever I see Mr. Pink type, it reminds me of this guy.

Anyway, you could use Mini Displayport to VGA, or Mini Displayport to HDMI. Most TVs have both nowadays.
