I have a new MacBook Pro. I bought a CablesToGo adapter (I'm in college so this is the best that the store had) and it connects with my HDMI cable. I can watch my Netflix on my TV but only the audio is coming from my MacBook. How can I get it to play through my LG HDTV?

If you go to System Preferences>Sound, do you see an option for selecting HDMI vs internal speakers?

I did everything and my problem is my MacBook isn't recognizing the HDMI cable so I can't find it anywhere in the settings. I might just need a new adapter.

You might have to do what I have to do on my MacBook. Run a seperate cable from the headphone jack to the TV in order to get the audio there.

How about giving this a try: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3610846?start=0&tstart=0

Just trying to save you some money and then you end up in the same place anyway. It's worth a shot.
