I have a 2016 Macbook Pro Touch Bar for almost a year. I notice that the screen is becoming damaged and scratched due to the keys on the keyboard. Has anyone else experienced this.

The laptop has no apple care ..will apple fix this?

There is a similar thread for earlier MBP's and the folks posting were having the same issues you have.

That thread inspired me to go out and pick up a RadTech microfiber cloth to place over the keyboard when closed, especially because I run this machine in clamshell mode five or six hours a day.

I don't recall seeing a fix---I'm sure Apple will replace the screen for a fee, although I don't think what you've experienced should ever happen.

YeaH I never had this experience. I owned every single style of MBP From before the first Unibody until now and never had this happened to any of them. Ill def check out the cloth. Thanks

I sometimes see those marks on mine, think it's just a buildup of dust/grease making contact with the screen. They have always gone away when cleaning the screen however - sometimes a little more difficult to remove though.

Anyway, never been actually scratched. Laptop is transported in a soft case in my backpack. If yours is scratched it could be evidence of other problems, so always worth taking it and talking to Apple directly.

I had the exact same issue on my Mid 2014 retina. Apple have a repair program for the screen coating wearing off. Took mine in today and they are replacing the whole screen assembly free of charge.

The new MacBooks with Touch Bar are also covered for delamination. If it gets worse just go to apple for a replacement. You will be covered 4 years from purchase. This is exactly how the 2013+ models LCD delamination occurred. Looked like scratches but the screen was coming off.

there is no coating program for 2016/2017 models

I actually cleaned the screen and it wasn't as bad as I thought. it was mostly dirty..
