I got a macbook not too long ago and I'll want to left-click on something and then it will right click. Yes I'm aware of the whole accidentally touching the trackpad with the other finger or wrist, etc, but every time it wasn't like that. Once it would right click it tried to normally click off in a blank part of the page but it keeps right clicking so I have to click about 10 more times and it finally stops doing that. I haven't noticed this behavior in any other program on my computer other than Chrome. I'm guessing it may be a problem with Chrome? But I want to know if I can fix it because it's extremely irritating, and if not, if someone could possibly explain what's going on so I can at least understand why it's doing this? Thank you.

Have you tried getting used to the right click area of the track pad? You can configure your trackpad to physically make a right click (bottom right of the trackpad).

Left clicking just tap (don't press) the trackpad.

I just changed it to that right now hopefully it will stop doing that to me?

I'll try to stop left clicking and just tap (i usually tap but sometimes I click for some reason). I'll change this to resolved should it stop within the next few days.

Thank you

Take your time to get used to things. When I got my first Mac (the one I'm using now), it took me quite some time to get used to the trackpad. Eventually, after I month I knew exactly how to use it.

Well I had a 2004 macbook for like 6 years but that had a button at the bottom of the trackpad to click, you couldn't actually physically click down on the trackpad on that, but it was convenient because you could tap the trackpad or click the button at the bottom. I don't now why they changed it for the macbook pro, maybe for the new handmotion features like 4 finger swipes and stuff (but seriously the trade-off is definitely not even nearly worth it). i've had this one for a little over a month and I'm used to using it but i just don't understand why it right clicks instead of left clicks when I have two-finger tap set up for right clicking. hopefully switching to right clicking at the bottom right of the trackpad will cease to confuse my computer and it will stop glitching
