Hey guys, so I JUST noticed tonight that the inside of my unibody MacBook Pro hinge is showing some major cracks. It's not normally visible but you can clearly see them when I use the flash on my camera. It doesn't seem to be coming apart, but I'm worried that the crack will spread even further. I only got the laptop about two months ago. Is this another issue that may be similar to the iPhone 3G hairline cracks? I got my iPhone replaced for free but will Apple replace this as well? :(

They're probably going to tell you to just hit the road. It's a very involved repair for something that isn't even causing harm. G'luck either way.

Eventually it can and will. The crack will only get worse over time.

Hm, I'm still not taking any chances lol. I don't want it shattering one day while I'm doing work so I'll take it to the Apple Store later this week before it gets any worse. :)

Took it into the Apple store today, they replaced the hinge for me free of charge due to manufacturing defect. :D
