Hey guys, so I JUST noticed tonight that the inside of my unibody MacBook Pro hinge is showing some major cracks. It's not normally visible but you can clearly see them when I use the flash on my camera. It doesn't seem to be coming apart, but I'm worried that the crack will spread even further. I only got the laptop about two months ago. Is this another issue that may be similar to the iPhone 3G hairline cracks? I got my iPhone replaced for free but will Apple replace this as well? 🙁

They're probably going to tell you to just hit the road. It's a very involved repair for something that isn't even causing harm. G'luck either way.

Hm, I'm still not taking any chances lol. I don't want it shattering one day while I'm doing work so I'll take it to the Apple Store later this week before it gets any worse. 🙂

Good luck. 😉
They're usually pretty helpful.

Took it into the Apple store today, they replaced the hinge for me free of charge due to manufacturing defect. 😀
