I'd like to connect my 15" macbook pro the my 42" sony bravia LCD TV, but I am wondering if any experts out there can tell me if I should use a mini display port to dvi cable (I already own a DVI to HDMI converter, then go into the HDMI port on the TV) or should I buy a mini display port to VGA, and then into the VGA input no the TV (which is apparently expressly there for computer connection purposes)

I guess my question is - what would be better quality of the two choices. I will be doing a lot of video editing, so picture quality is important.

What is the resolution of your TV?
If 1080p then a mini Displayport to HDMI adapter would work best.
If it is 768p (referred to as 720p), then you will want to use a mini Displayport to VGA adapter.
    MINI DISPLAYPORT to HDMI Adapter
    MINI DISPLAYPORT to VGA Adapter
MINI DISPLAYPORT Male and USB Male Audio to HDMI Female Converting Adapter
MINI DISPLAYPORT Male and USB Male/Toslink Audio to HDMI Female Converting Adapter

The last two adapters include audio over HDMI, but they are significantly more expensive. And I would skip using the DVI adapter.
