Macbook Pro unusual screen distortion

Hi I'm getting some unusual distortion on my 2010 macbook pro screen. Her is an example in the picture. also happens around the sides of windows which are opened, finder for example.

Any one with any help ideas?

I may be wrong (I hope I am!), but it looks like one of your graphics cards is on it's way out. Does it happen from startup or does it gradually get worse over time?

Have you tried using an app like gfxcardstatus to force the integrated or dedicated graphics card?

Looks like an issue with Memory, least likely the graphics card.

Hi ive switched off the integrated graphics so just using the nvidia now which seems to have solved the problem.
