According to various whispers, Apple will (finally) be updating the MacBook Pros tomorrow. As always, Apple keeps details of the update a tightly guarded secret, but these late reports claim that the new MacBook Pros will use the expected Core 2 Duo and both the 15" and 17" models will be updated.

The prices for the upgraded machines are said to be exactly the same price as current models.

Few other details are available, but an earlier rumor suggested larger hard drives, FW800 and upgraded DVD drives.

Don't freak out if it doesn't come out tomorrow. It's like the Rev. A MacBook... we all know it'll happen sooner rather than later... but we don't know exactly when.

Gee I sure hope so. Im dying for a repaired one... and this will be my third repair... ;)

Unfortunately, the most reliable information on Apple's forthcoming notebook revisions continues to be an earlier published report, which indicated the company has plans of updating all of its existing notebook models with Core 2 Duo chips by the second half of November.

Hope they update the pro line first... any other way would be counter intuitive.

I think that me and about everyone else around here is gonna cheer tomorrow, because this is the Official End to Merom MBP Threads™.

(at least i hope so )

I am hoping for FW800, updated DVD drives, larger HDD's, and some other cool/random feature just for the wow factor. :)

me also, want 160gb HD, industry leading graphics card, new airport standard compatible.

and... oh yeah blu-ray option.

...And the beginning to the Santa Rosa MBP Next Tuesday threads!!!

The Intel transition has brought us more frequent updates AND more frequent (annoying) G5powerbook-like rumors.

I'm not buying it. Sounds like there's a shortage on French keyboards to me. Why none of the other countries around France? Also, the French MB ship time is 3 days for the high and low end models, but not the middle one. There may be upgrades tomorrow, but I don't think this is an indicator.

I sure hope the easy to upgrade HDD is part of the new line. I am holding out on the Pros until that comes about. It seems counterintuitive to have something so useful and neat available on the consumer model and not the pro line...:)

Don't get your hopes up about the graphics card, this is Apple, after all. Look for GeForce Go 7300 and 7600. The hardware will likely support the new wireless standard, when it is finally confirmed, but until then, it will likely be a hidden feature.

Yay!

I really hope this is true!! I desperately need a Pro for work, but couldn't stand to buy a 32 bit one! Oh so close! :D

But we might all drown in the tears should Apple not release this tomorrow!!
