I'm likely going to get a recent model MacBook Pro with touch bar and finger print reader for a work computer (currently have a MacBook Air) and I'm curious about USB-C. I'm a big Apple fan and am excited for the upgrade, my question is currently I have a Anker USB hub plugged in with 2 external hard drives (that I don't need all the time, just when I want to back stuff up) a external monitor through the thunderbolt adapter, a Logitech keyboard that pairs via USB and finally a PNY Transend drive in the SD card slot reader. If I do get upgraded, I'd like to keep access to hard drives and external display. Is that possible or do I need to choose having power and external monitor? What are my options?

Thanks!

Get the Apple USB/HDMI (or whichever version you need for your monitor. It has a USB-A, USB-C power passthrough, and can connect to your monitor. Plug the tanker hub into that.

I picked up a couple of these two packs of USB A to USB C adapters. Put one of those on the Logitech USB dongle.

Will that let me plug powered USB hub in to the adapter and still access hard drives/keyboard?

Is your keyboard plugged into the hub? If so, I *think* so. I'm never 100% sure how dongled keyboards work unless they are in a physical port so I was hedging my bets there.

You may be better off with a new USBC hub. something like this maybe.
