Macbook pro started to wake up even if the lid is closed. Does anyone know what causes this issue?

There are some things at this link you can try.

I have tried what is suggested on the link including SMC reset but the issue is not resolved. I am using Apple Watch to unlock my MacBook Pro and if the issue occurs a message on AW saying that MacBook Pro was unlocked occurs every 10 mins. So I am guessing MacBook Pro is unlocking and locking itself constantly.

That is really strange. I also use an AW to unlock my watch, but am not having those issues. It could be related to the AW. Have you tried turning that feature off and on again?

I get the same think every once in awhile if I am too close to my MBP. Think the apple watch unlock is a little buggy and is somehow triggering the wake-up.

I did hard reset AW and it was not resolved.... do not why it is happening. It is occurring intermittently. I thought it could be 'wake for network access' feature but it was not. I have also tried turning on/off the feature.

Hmm... could it be software issue then?

I'm pretty sure it is software.

If it is a software issue then should everyone have this problem?
