Hey folks,

I've got a late 2006 17" C2D MBP. After a reboot, my system stopped booting completely - it hangs at the Apple logo, no hard drive activity.

It will not boot from my Snow Leopard DVD or Leopard or Tiger DVDs either - just hangs.

I've tried the usual PMU, battery in and out tricks.

Booting into Safe Mode displays a few lines and then stops on:

ACPI: System State [S0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)

I can find nothing about this on Google.

Also - Target Disk Mode works and I have been able to recover all my files. Not sure if this is relevant.

Any ideas? Is this thing just cooked?

Sounds like a failed logic board... I think you already looked at the guide so not much to do 🙁

Does your MBP have 8600M GT?
