hi is it easy to upgrade the ram on a macbook pro yourself at moment it is standard at 2gb
 
Yes, very easy. Unscrew the back, remove the ram and insert new ram - Easy peasy :)

Yeah, I assumed it was the a recent model.

a fair assumption! in fact, if the op doesn't know how much ram is in it, and doesn't know how to replace the ram, they may not realize they have an air with soldered ram. macs can be confusing to the uninitiated.

hopefully, the op will give us a bit more info :)
