So - here is the story. Does anyone notice that their macbook makes more noise than the previous powerbook? that the fan is on quite a bit.... or am i going crazy?

My MPB makes less noise than my 12'' PB. It made some weird noise for the first few mins, but they went away. I think it was just cold.

Many units seem to be affected by a hissing noise probably from the power inverter. Possibly all, with many units perhaps being lower than others in volume so that users aren't bothered and don't notice.

I have the 2.0 MacBook Pro w/7200rpm hard drive. I think that it is extremely quiet. There is a slight level of noise from the hard drive or something i guess, but its a very low volume that is not really noticable.
