The 2012 does not fetch more than $1000 on eBay. Since you're in Canada, add another $100 or so for the difference in exchange rates and it still is 300-400 more than it should be.

Between those two, I'd definitely go 2014 without a question. Iris Pro has been great for me. I'm running Samsung 4K display and youtube 4K videos look great. I don't play games or 3D modeling for me to need anything more.

2012 models are going for 1000 and under at this point - its an awful deal for the first one.

Interesting because I can't find those 2012 retina 15 inch for less than 1400$ on ebay, and ebay has taxes. But I'm really happy I got your points guys, I was gonna buy a 2012 for 1500$. Now I have a question. First, does the iris pro from 2014 sealed have a faster SSD ? Also, I'd like to know if a max settings macbook pro early 2015 sealed, for 2400$ CAD is good deal.

Would like to know how to tell if a mac has been stolen & does it change anything if I still buy it ?

If you can get a max configuration 15in MBP for 2400 then ya that's about $1000 off retail. Also is there a store that's have that sale lol Because I would pick that up myself :)

Ask the seller for the serial number and ask if it comes with the charger or anything else. With the serial number, you can look it up and see if anyone reported it being stolen or missing.

Of course it comes with the charger, it's brand new, sealed, in the box. I look up the serial number on apple's website ?? & what does it change if it's stolen ?

Also, does the 2014 macbook pro iris pro retina 15 inch has a faster ssd or a newer intel core i7 processor than the 2012 with the geforce 650m

Right now, there's a refurb 2014 15" with Iris Pro on the Apple refurb store for $1600; basically, the same as the current MBP, but $300 less. And it has a 1 year warranty from Apple.

What you are talking about cost 1700$ USD which is 2195$ CAD and plus taxe it's $2500CAD.

The sealed one also have a warranty on it, it activate as soon as I open the computer.

Don't think it's smart to buy a used item for 900$ more when you can get it brand new for 900$ less.

Eh.

Canadian market is totally different. To those of us in the US, those prices you have been quoted are unacceptable and unrealistic.
Do a search to see what others are selling in your market and go from there.

I completely agree with you but on ebay i cant find any macbook pro 15 retina with dedicated graphic card below 1800$CAD if we includes taxes. I went on ebay.com as well. Please can you make sure that this is a terrible deal again because i checked everywhere and i cant find lower

Do a search for completed listings for the 2012 model.

The auctions on them are not finished and most of them either doesn't have a dedicated graphic card which is, for me the most important thing. Some would have ridiculous prices like the first, and others will be critically damaged/have a lot of scratches. In the end, 99,99% of them are going to finish the auction a few hundred bucks more than the macbook I found, and the macbooks here that fits my carateristics will finish at a minimum price of 2000$CAD , at least , including taxes.

I put the first one one to show you that it will end with no bids because no one would pay that price.
As far as the others, you have to wait for the auctions to end. Don't assume they will end above $1000.

Due to the exchange rates the prices of macbooks in Canada shot up this year and it has had a bad effect on the second hand market. I can't see you getting a retina one with a dGPU for less than $1700-$1800 Canadian.
