Hi, New to this forum. Seem to have a problem, have looked through this forum before for answers but they ended up not being the solution

I will use my Macbook for a while, and the internet will be ok, but If I leave it inactive for a while, like I will get up to grab a glass of water, the internet will not progress. I end up having to go to System Pref > Network > Assist Me > Diagnostics, and in that window I will find that everything below ISP will fail, and this I would go thru diagnostics to fix it again. The problem is that I shouldnt have to be going thru this proces every time I dont press a button on the macbook. I find that If I leave a p2p site or a torrent site running, the internet is fine. Not too sure if this is a macbook, or an internet or a router problem, tho I figure its probably one of the latter 2.

Anyone want to help shed light on this problem. Theres a probably a quick explanation.

Thanks in advance.

What exact MacBook model and specific Mac OS X version do you have?

What network settings and setup do you use?

Have you tried turning AirPort (if you use that) off and on again?

Do you know MRoogle?

That was quick lol,

My network is wireless through a D-Link Router, and from a previous post I read a while back Im not running dchp, and changed the router channel.

Im tried turning off and on airport, and even created diff location.

Never heard of MRoogle tho.

Turn off airport, go into the mac network settings and delete the ssid (network name) you're having problems with. Also, go into the key chain access and delete the passwords for your network. Now turn on airport and input your password. If you need more precise instructions, let me know, this should help.
