Just bought a new macbook as my partner has now got my 1 year old blackbook.

The first unit had the split casing issue and went straight back, this unit I have now is not much better still splitting and dodgy keyboard, the build quality seems nowhere near a good as a year ago.

I am considering calling Apple and returning this one and upgrading to a macbook pro(can't wait for the updates)..a couple of questions:

Will the 4gb ram I have just bought for the macbook work in the macbook pro?

Would the build quality on the macbook pro be better?

Any advice would be great?:D

The RAM should work fine as long as they don't change the type needed.

I've always found a MBP will dent/scratch easier, or even get out of shape but I guess out of the box it should be better than what you've experienced.

Yes the 4gb will work in a MBP (better, even)

Yes, the build quality is generally better, but still not perfect.

The current MBP will accept the current MB RAM.

And comparatively speaking, the MBP does have a better build quality than the MB- noticeable enough.

I've never liked the MacBooks, MBP feels far more sturdier* and looks sexier IMO.

* i know it can get dented and warped but i'm very careful with my stuff

It works fine. The blackbook i personally find wears out way too fast. Well white does the same, but due to color you dont notice the wear at all. Still the pro seems more solid, but way more fragile. Like mentioned above, good out of the box, but **** after first accident.
