Does the entry level macbook have dvd burning capabilities? If not it looks like i'll get an Asus :(

The $1099 model has a combo only DVD reading. You'll need to go with the $1299 model to get DVD burning.

The Combo drive can write CDs but can only read DVDs.
The $200 difference gives you a better processor with a larger cache, more RAM, more storage and the dual-layer superdrive.

I would honestly suggest in getting a refurbish model that has the superdrive. You won't regret it trust me, or better yet.. trust this community.
