i was on macsale.com to buy 2 gb for my powerbook and i came across macbook ram because im thinking about get the new macbook when the new rev comes out. but it says it maxs out on 6gb. i was wondering if anyone has already done it?

What do you actually use the machine for? Do you know if you actually need that much RAM?

Why do you need 6gb of RAM? the difference between 4 and 6 on a 32bit OS isnt going to be noticable unless your an extreme user or a proper benchmarking geek.

well i wont go to 6 until snow leopard but even than ill probably just stay at 4gb. It uses quite a bit when in garageband though. and i use that quite a lot

I remember reading back in Oct/Nov that many users who upped their Aluminum MB's up to 6 gigs had some stability and usability problems. Any word if that has changed?

Hi,

I have a white 2.1ghz macbook, bought just recently in january from the apple store. When i look at 'About this Mac' it says it is version 4.1.

I am looking to upgrade my RAM to speed up Logic, but i have read conflicting reports on whether it supports up to 4GB or 6GB.

Does it support 6GB? and if so are there any stability issues with it?

Thanks
