i bought a macbook 13 aluminium unibody late 2008 without original restore discs. the battery full charged give me about 6 hours, mac osx 10.5.6. then i restore it with a mac osx 10.6.3 install disc. the battery give me then no more than 3 hours. what's the problem? shall i restore it only with original disc or to the same osx version?

Do you mean 6 or 3 hours, as indicated on iStat Pro, iStat Menus or coconutBattery, or actual running time until your Mac shuts down?

Have you properly calibrated your battery, so the readings are accurate?
