Hello all,

I have an Early 2009 Whitebook. Until here recently my Whitebook has ran like a champ, but now it seems like the computer is easily bogged down. Here's what I've got so far:

1) Repaired permissions.
2) Cleared temp. files.
3) Cleared off desktop.
4) Removed un-needed startup programs.
5) Closed programs in the dock when not in use.

I have 4GB's of RAM so I know RAM isn't the issue. It just seems like ever since 10.5.7 came out a little while back the computer seems to get easily overwhelmed. It's not uncommon for me to get the beach ball just from opening "system preferences." Do you all have any ideas as to what could be the problem? Thanks for any help.

You mentioned 10.5.7, but have you installed 10.5.8? If you haven't already, maybe this will help you out...

Next time your computer gets bogged down, check in activity monitor what is using up your CPU/memory. I remember my mail.app acting up at some point and using a lot more CPU/RAM than it should do... issue was resolved easily by just restarting mail.app. But Activity Monitor is a good way to find out which apps are eating up your resources.
