Back in mid-december last year I accidentally spilled some water on my MacBook Pro’s trackpad. This caused the cursor to jump around all over the screen and the trackpad had a dead-zone in the middle. This happens to me often and my usual solution to this is to just suck the liquid up from the edges of the trackpad, but this time that didn’t work. I knew what to do to clean it up from the inside, but I didn’t have the tools for it (tri-wing screwdriver etc.). I bought them online as soon as I could, but they first arrived today. I took out the trackpad and put it in a bag with some rubbing alcohol for 10 minutes to get the dirt particles and then I let it dry for an hour. I then screwed it back together, but the problem is still the same.
Since it’s been dirty inside for almost a month now, should I try putting it in alcohol again? Maybe buy a replacement? Or does anyone with experience have a quick tip to fix it?
