They are having a 2-day sale with $300 off what appears to be the m5 Macbooks.

Very tempted to pick one up, but what are the odds this signifies either another spec update to this lineup on the horizon or even something else? I'm in no rush to buy one, so I'm happy to wait if there's a reason, but if not I don't want to turn down this deal.

It's been recently updated, I can't think of what they'd change at this time. Seems a decent deal. Even better if you grab an openbox.

Definitely the 2015 versions.

However, you could stack the $100 .edu coupon with this sale, making it pretty sweet for those that don't mind a 2015. Personally, I need the latest-and-greatest :)

BB did run the 2016 models for $50 off on Monday, so I picked up the 2016 m3 for $1149 w/the .edu coupon.

I will say that if you're okay with an April 2015 build Best Buy is selling off its floor demo models. I got a 2015 in Rose Gold with 8GB/256GB/1.1 for just $729 after some haggling. It's in perfect condition with no cosmetic blemishes and only 6 battery cycles.

I'm in a similar predicament with the Best Buy deal. 899 for a 2015 model core M and 256 gb. I don't need anything near 256gb. Or go with the 2016, into the Rose Gold color now...

They are for the 2015 version if you look at the specs.

I didn't realize this until I spent some time yesterday migrating everything over to my computer. Seemed really shady to tell me that it was the 2016 version. I knew it was too good to be true but still a fantastic price and the machine, outside of being a floor model, doesn't have any blemishes...
