Hello. My MacBook's sleep light does not function unless I place a death-grip on the top case right above the light itself. What should I do to repair this light properly? Any articles I should know about? Thanks.

You could take it in to an Apple Store if it still has Apple Care on it. If not then you'll have to open it and maybe replace the sleep light/IR remote assembly. Follow these steps if you want to find out whats wrong yourself. Be warned it is a semi-complex procedure. So make sure you go slowly and double check everything and keep track of which screws go where.

Thanks Intelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.

I have no Apple Care plan for it, but I've taken apart and repaired many MacBooks before, it's just that I've never messed with this part of the MacBook. Thanks again!
