Macbook sleeping question

If the power is hooked to the macbook and i close the lid will the macbook sleep?

Yes it'll sleep on battery or on AC when you close the lid.

a friend of mine has a Macbook and when he has the AC hooked up and close the lid the macbook doesn't sleep

InsomniaX or some sort of hardware/software problem.

yeah he doesn't have InsomniaX so it must be some sort of hardware problem there....

Sometimes it takes a little while to go to sleep, especially if something is going on in the background.

yeah not sure about that he closed the lid before he went to bed and woke up and it still didn't sleep. I was reading on the net somewhere that when the AC is hooked up it won't sleep.
