macbook speakers

i've had my blackbook for about 3 weeks now and i love it.

this is a noo13ie question, here i go.

i have my macbook hook up to external speakers via the headjack. i noticed when i take it out, the macbook internal speakers automatically mutes. is there any way i can change this?

It resets it to the internal speaker volume. Remove the cable and adjust the volume. Plug the cable in and the volume will change to the "headphone" level that was last set. Remove the cable and the volume will revert to the last speaker level.
