All over Macrumors, there are posts from people about what they think and hope the specs of the upcoming Macbook will have. They are rumored to be released later today, so in a few hours, we should know what we got right or wrong.

My thoughts:
13.3" display
iSight
Magsafe
Frontrow
Combo/superdrive on higher model
Intel core solo on lower model, duo on higher model(s)
512MB RAM stock, upgradable to 1.5GB
60/80GB HDDs, 100GB option
7-8rs battery life
bluetooth 2.0, APX
choice of colours
Gigabit ethernet
3 USB ports
Something else we don't know about yet...

it won't have:
backlit keyboard
aluminium case (maybe on highest model - replacement 12" PB)
FW800
expansion slot

Im not willing to make predicitons about the grahphics card, because i can see good reason for integrated and dedicated graphics chipsets. For most people, the integrated wouldn't slow them down, but for us serious Macheads, we need our own graphics chipset, even if it is something simple.

they will be released later today

They will be (if they are) tomorrow (American time), in aprx. 17:30 minutes. I am also not sure they will be released. No invite yet…

Overall, I think your guess is pretty accurate, (but no aluminum).

An invite was sent out last week for an event Thurs. in NYC. we shall soon find out if products are going to be released.

They'll allow 2 GB of Ram - the Mac Mini, iMac, and MacBook Pro have all allowed this much thus far.

The Pro Mac (or Mac Pro...or whatever) will allow quite a bit more ram, however.

They probably be released to tomorrow and then Steve will brag about how popular they are. Or even Released tomorrow and shipped on the 18th (Basically Im just realllllyyyyy hoping tomorrow)

...Yeah I definitely think you should go for that option :D ;) .

I'm guessing:

core duo across the line
integrated graphics except on a CTO high-end model
512 RAM, 2 GB max
60-100 GB HD, including 5400 RPM model on the high end
13.3" at 1280x720
magsafe
isight
IR remote and front row
BT and AE
magnetic latches
2 USB, 1 FW 400
6-7 hour battery life (please!)
black and white options
only plastic (I think you'll be able to custom order a high end MB with specs close to a low-end MBP, but I don't think it will have aluminum or be called a MBP)

and for the love of god let it be this week!

If they have a build to order non-integrated graphics option, I will have to buy one, but I expect to be dissapointed until I can save up enough for a MBP.:p

Agreed except for the 3 USB ports and 7-8 hours of battery life. There wont be 3 USB becuase the 15" MBP doesnt even have 2. The batterylike will probably be 5-6 (at most)

Why does everyone assume that the new Macbook will have an isight? I don't think they will. To keep the price at $999, and to encourage people to get MBPs, they'll ditch the iSight. Otherwise the MBP will have very little over the macbook!

I think that the low end won't have it or only have it BTO. The 2nd level models and up will have it standard.

Unfortunetly I think we will see integrated graphics much like all the PC laptops in this price point and size...

Mobility Radeon has been "confirmed", and we're guessing that it's an X1300.

Edit: Looks like the source was wrong :(
