I can't access that 'thread'...why!? :(

Me neither. That's why I laughed. Every MacBook will have a Mobility Radeon. That's a fact. They're going to have a Radeon X1900XTX card. The dimensions of the laptop will be 10.9" in width by 9.6" in depth, and 3.4" in thickness.

Those specs seem to be in line with what I was thinking. Although battery life will be more like 5-6 hours and only 2 USB 2.0 ports.

If the MacBook's specs are high enough, I will probably buy one to replace my iBook G4 tomorrow! :D If not, I guess that I will have to shell out a little more cash for a MacBook Pro. :)

I also can't access it! can you copy-paste for us lowly "Regulars"?

And remove an incentive to contribute?

We'll find out how accurate the source is tomorrow anyway.

7-8 hours of battery life?!? C'mon, does any laptop get that?

As for iSight, I think Apple is pushing video conferencing on consumers. iSight made it onto the "consumer" Mac desktop. so why not on the "consumer" Mac laptop.

Core Solo 1.5/Core Duo 1.66
512MB PC5300 standard
40GB/60GB 5400RPM
APX/BT/iSight/Magsafe
13.3" WXGA
~4.5 lbs, 4-5 hrs. battery life

EDIT: Intel GMA950

I realy dont think we will se discrete graphics, maybe on the high end model. Apple most likely got a nice deal from intel because they got a boatload in chips with integrated graphics (945PM i think), apple is going to want to get rid of those chips now.

If they go x1300 they also have to write driver and support it, Apple will want to keep it simple.

I agree, the GMA950 is here to stay. Not necessarily a bad thing. Increased battery life/compatibility with Windows.

As a lot of you have noticed, my predicted specs contain a small amount of wishful thinking. Some laptops get 6-8hrs out of a charge, but thinking realistically, 5 or 6 is probably closer to the official mark, but 4 to 5 for real world use. I figured 3 USB ports, because it may entice people to buy it with all of its 'expandability options'. They probably will have two only.

3.4 inches thick!!! The current ibook is only 1.35 inches. That is a bit unrealistic.
It would not bother me with only one USB as it is easy to buy a hub for it.
I'm hoping for dedicated graphics just because it is fairlyeasy to upgrade.

But it`d not be easy at all to carry it. No matter how sleek/small it is. It`s always a hassle to carry extra acessories. Nothing beats the built in functionality. What could be better than something working right out of the box.

Spec leaked?

Check it here.

I would be tempted to say fake. The quality of the image is no where near as good as those of the powerbook. The text saying 'Macbook' actually on the thing also does not look real.

I agree, but I didn't say anything due to the possibility of it being a reseller's pic instead of Apple's.

The quality of the case rendering looks awful too, like the bezel around the screen has been made by repeating textures from the base - looks very strange.

Still on the subject of specs, is the Macbook likely to support dual-screen? Quite like the idea of a 20" monitor at home for the as and the when.
