My friends June 2009 13'' Macbook Pro is getting stuck on the software update. When the software update alerts her to update, the pinwheel comes up and slows down her computer. It is not an internet issue. Here is the log below. I know it is a lot but please look through it and see if you can figure it out.

I would just download the Combo Updater and install it without using Software Update. That may fix the problem for future updates.

OK what is a permissions error? We got it installed successfully. But, she has this problem with her software update a lot. And, when her software update pops up, it slows her computer down really bad.

Ok, so I think the 10.5.8 Update has fixed all problems
We ran the software update to update the security thing and
it worked like magic! Thanks for the help and suggestions!
