My macbook, 2GB of RAM, running leopard takes about 6 minutes to boot up. This recently started to happen. It stays on the Apple Logo with the gear for about 2 minutes and takes about 4 minutes just sitting there on the blue screen. After that, even more weird things happen. I get a flash for about 1 second of the grey apple logo screen and then boom, desktop and everything is normal. It sounds really strange, I know.

I have no clue what I did to make this happen, but any suggestions would help.

    Thanks

Try booting in safe mode by holding the shift key down on startup.

You should also check the hard drive with disk utilities.
