I have an early 2009 white macbook. and when I am watching a video on youtube, my temp skyrocket to 180+ wile I am holding it off the desk for maximum air flow... could this be harmful to my macbook?

I have started using clicktoflash, and the temps hover around 140 wile watching vid on youtube...

Thanks,

That's about normal, as Flash is highly CPU intensive, therefore the CPU is emitting heat, therefore the temperature is rising and the fans ares spinning up.

Click2Flash has the option of watching YouTube videos in .h264, which is not as CPU intensive as Flash. Give it a try.
