By all means go get an MBP, they are great machines, but clearly you have a RAM problem that needs fixing. Buying the MBP is just doing what you already want to do, clearly.

But, if you stick with the MB and buy Apple RAM, you would be considered clinically insane by 105% of people on these forums. Apple RAM is like flying business class = only buy it with other people's money. It is an astonishing rip off for which the company should hang its head in shame. And that's no joke.

Swapping the RAM in your MacBook is about as easy as plunging a toilet.

The truth is that you will not be happy with a model with low RAM. You can either add $400 to your favorite new MacBook (Pro) from Apple, or you can spend $100 and be happy.

Waiting for a later release will not get you the speed you want.
 
Even if you do stick with the one you have for a while. You need to upgrade the Ram it is suffering with only a GB. it costs nothing to upgrade and the performance increase is substantial.
