Macbook trackpad button is dying?

Over the last couple weekd I've notice that 1 click on my button often registers as 2.

Therefore clicking and dragging to select some text is become really hard as the selection is always lost before I finish the drag...

This a common problem?

Not a problem I've heard of. I'm guessing you've tried adjusting the double-click speed in System Preferences as well as the many other settings. Also create a new account, and if it happens there it'll be a hardware fault 🙁

I think it is :-/

This will be my 3rd hardware fault inside a year

1st: battery
2nd: adaptor
3rd: button
