In the past, there was no noise, but now, it is almost like a little annoying screech. Is there any way to remove and clean the button or anything?

Osarkon macrumors 68020 Jul 21, 2007 #3 I'd guess it's just part of the enclosure so there's no way of removing it without removing the entire top casing. Can't say I've encountered the same problem myself I'm afraid.

K kolax macrumors G3 Jul 21, 2007 #4 Just keep pressing the trackpad button rapidly and it should wear whatever is causing the squeek (rubbing the casing or whatever) to wear out. I had a squeeky spacebar and that fixed it. Probably a bit of food that's fallen into the gap on your trackpad.
