Hey helpful online community :) This is the first time i've used a forum so don't go too hard on me :) I have a Macbook Unibody from late 2009 and it currently has 2gb of RAM installed, I want to upgrade to 4gb but am unsure of what measures I must take to get full marks on a "parity" check, I know how to change it and all that, I would just like to know if Macbook's do indeed parity check their RAM :) And also if anyone knew what type of RAM (pin count, recommended manufacturer) I would need for my Macbook, diagnostics below :)

I have the same MB 6,1 as you, and I just upgraded to 8 gigs of RAM last week, Crucial's RAM is $80 for a 8 gig kit (4x2) at MicroCenter.
